It’s unique design utilizes patented RuggedCool™ technology to provide four-sided cooling for balanced heat transfer and low thermal gradient allowing for full operation at up to +85°C.
The X9 SPIDER modular, scalable, distributed architecture (DCA) simplifies applications that require rugged high-performance computing, high-definition video, sensor processing, artificial intelligence (AI) battlefield edge processing, storage, display, and I/O in a small, rugged enclosure with amazing performance per dollar per watt.
All X9 SPIDER products are modular, expandable or scalable, with the latest Thunderbolt™ 4 technology and our patented LightBolt™ 40Gbps connections in copper or fiber, with optional 100W per port power for up-/down-stream sensors and system expansion.
The X9 family of products redefines embedded computer architectures. The traditional computers in the market (rugged or commercial) require the user to pre-configure their systems up front making systems either over-built and expensive or under-developed for future growth. This lack of modular expansion capability often forces a full technology refresh. Traditional systems also have to be redesigned when any components such as the CPU, memory or certain I/O components go end of life, rendering the entire system obsolete.
The GMS X9 family of systems are the result of over 45 years of experience as the market leader in small form factor systems. The X9 SPIDER is a open Distributed Computer Architecture (DCA) where each specific function is defined in a sub system and linked together via a single LightBolt™ cable that carries high speed (40 Gbps) fiber and 100W of power, allowing units to be placed up to 50 meters away from each other in any format: Daisy Chain or Star.
This open DCA mitigates obsolescence by upgrading/replacing only those functions required to be upgraded. The power delivery to X9 systems are extremely versatile, flexible and cost effective. Each system may be powered on its own or by any of the other systems in the “loop”. There are also options for external power supplies with battery back-up that can be added as needed, allowing the system to grow as needed without the limitation of available power. These sub systems include; Storage (fixed or removable), GPU, Workstations, Switches and Displays as well as many others.
The backbone of the X9 system architecture is Thunderbolt™ 4 which consists of a single cable connecting each box with 40 Gbps transfer speeds, 4k/8k video streams and power delivery making the X9 SPIDER the ultimate expandable system.
