Commercial Broadcasting

extreme location broadcasting

General Micro Systems’ initial emergence into the broadcasting industry goes back to the 1990’s when we began forging relationships with companies like Grass Valley Group (GVG), Sony Entertainment, and a handful of other pre and post production companies.  Since then we’ve expanded our reach to meet the wishes of other technologically dependent industries that require high power computing, reliability, and customizable I/O all packaged in a low power, compact, and upgradeable system, but we are now charging our way back into broadcasting.

demanding filming environment

With the rise of the modern broadcasting enterprise, the demand and need for extreme rugged displays and computers is abundant. It is important for these systems to be able to operate at high performance under any environmental condition imaginable; for example, in rain, mud, gusty winds, dust, salt, humidity, etc.  This is why GMS is becoming a coveted name in broadcasting; we provide the highest performance displays with the most current video processing technologies all enveloped in an ultra-rugged, fan less, conduction cooled package in less than 3" of thickness.  Our displays utilize state of the art video capture and processing technology, support the latest interfaces, such as HD-SDI and 4K HD Video standards and are customizable to fit each user’s specific needs and requirements.

rugged filming environment

One of the most important aspects of General Micro Systems’ line of displays is that they are scalable - ranging from 10" to 65" with bright daylight viewable and high crisp resolution screens that can be made virtually unbreakable with our “boot kick” glass. Our most compact smart displays are comparable to rugged tablet sized machines and our most extensive smart displays can span the size of a full wall, with up to four 65" diagonal displays acting as one! We offer various touchscreen options depending on size, including resistive, capacitive or infrared touchscreens, with up to 16 bezel keys, and best of all: they can be custom configured with user determined I/O.

Smart broadcasting teams don’t choose unworthy equipment because the price of a mistake could cost them millions. GMS displays are designed to withstand the potentially damaging mistakes that inevitably occur in fast paced, chaotic environments.
